A google search for HDA provided the following:
Hispanic Dental Association
Heavy Duty Aftermarket
Henry Dreyfuss Associates
High Definition Audio
Holistic Dental Association
Hawaii Dental Association
Hemispherical Deflection Analyzer
Hunt Dabney & Associates
and a lot of other companies called "HDA" which did not offer any explanation of what the letters meant.
So, I think the two most obvious guesses would be: HDA is some big secret that people involved are not allowed to tell... or he's probably a dentist.
I assumed he (she? it?) was for Forensics (Public Speaking Forensics, not Dead Animal forensics).
But try as my might, HNational DForensics Association is probably a stretch.
HDA stands for Humorous Duet Acting. It is an event for Speech (Forensics) which is a competitive sport in high school and some colleges.
