  • Mary Poppins
  • The Manhattan Theatre Club
  • Everything, because the Economy is dead you see, and nobody can afford Broadway because everybody got fired from all their jobs, and that means literally nobody will see shows, and the economy is dead and why can't you understand that Broadway has six months to live tops?
I don't know about Mary Poppins though... Disney may opt to keep that one open regardless...

I think Wicked is about the only show who might not get affected. I really do not care for that show. (And I'm supposed to be it's target audience. Bluhh. >.It just angers me that shows like Mary Poppins and Wicked get to stay when we have to see such gems like Spring Awakening and RENT go. =/
Agreed. Broadway is on it's way to hell. RENT was the last good one :/And Phantom's just going to live forever.
I haven't seen Mary Poppins in the bottom five for capacity or gross, so I;m not sure about that...However, a lot of shows will be closing. Shows that a lot of people thought were "safe" are closing (Hairspray, Spamalot, Spring Awakening), and I would not be surprised at all to see Avenue Q go, since its gross hasn't been great lately. Young Frankenstein might close, just because of operating costs, but I think that it's actually doing OK on capacity (not sure, of course, since they don't report it...grr). Grease will most likely depart, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they closed Phantom in preparation for Phantom 2. 13 and a Tale of Two Cities have both had mediocre capacity and gross, so they'll be gone soon enough.
aaaaand there went tale of two cities. closing 11/16.
AND, To2C didn't even run as long as The Pirate Queen. Though the both had similar budgets. As in 16-million+ dollars. >_
