Piepenburg is an asshole for running his mouth about how Lupone should grin and bear it when theatergoers are being assholes.

Itzkoff is an asshole for avoiding the fact that 3 out of 4 NYTimes.com commenters agreed with Lupone about Piebenburg being an asshole.

Assholes.

[By the way, it was a concert. This wasn't stopping a musical during a pivotal scene. She stopped her own concert! Who cares?]

I admit I was slightly on the fance about her doing it during Gypsy, but if it's her concert, she has complete control. My experience would be far more ruined by some asshole texting than by her calling him out for it.

Personally, I think people should have to check their electronics when they go into a theater.
